Description

Adjustable Multi-Fit Kayak Anchor Trolley Running Rig

If you’re serious about kayak fishing, an anchor trolley is one of the most valuable “control” upgrades you can add. This Adjustable Multi-Fit Running Rig lets you position your anchor (or drift chute/drogue) off the front or the rear of the kayak — without climbing around the deck.

Why use a Running Rig?

  • Instant positioning: Slide your anchor point forward or back by pulling the cord through the pulleys.
  • Cleaner, safer setup: Keeps your anchor line running along the side of the kayak, not across your lap or cockpit.
  • Perfect for anchors or drogues: Set the kayak angle to suit wind, current, or drift direction.

Built for real kayak fishing

  • Stainless steel fittings for saltwater durability
  • Spectra cord (non-stretch) to keep tension consistent and positioning responsive
  • Multi-fit design to suit most kayaks (ideal across different lengths and layouts)

Designed to fit your kayak properly

This Kayak Anchor Trolley Running Rig comes standard with saddles and screws designed to fit kayaks that have brass inserts moulded in (common on many fishing kayaks).
If your kayak doesn’t have inserts fitted, ask us to supply well nuts — self-sealing rubber nuts designed to fit pre-drilled 10mm holes.

Gear Tip (Highly Recommended)

Set your tension so the line runs along the side (not across your cockpit)

The “secret” to a running rig that feels clean and safe is correct tension. You want the cord to track neatly along the side of the kayak so it doesn’t cross your legs or snag gear.

  • Keep it tight enough to stay on the side of the hull
  • Not so tight that it pulls awkwardly around the cockpit area
  • After saltwater use: quick rinse + check the saddles/screws occasionally

How it works (simple explanation)

The rig is a continuous loop of cord running through pulleys. Your anchor ring / attachment point slides along the side of the kayak. Pull the cord forward to set your anchor point at the bow, or pull it back to set it at the stern. Once tension is set correctly, the line runs neatly along the side of the kayak and stays out of the way.

What you’ll use it with

  • Anchor (for holding position)
  • Drift chute / drogue (for slowing drift and controlling direction)

***Drift Chute / Drogue sold separately.***

What’s included

  • Multi-Fit Kayak Anchor Trolley Running Rig
  • Stainless steel saddles + hardware
  • Screws to suit brass inserts (where fitted)

❓FAQs

What is a Kayak Anchor Trolley Running Rig  and what does it do?
A running rig (often called an anchor trolley) lets you position your anchor or drift chute line off the front or rear of the kayak by simply pulling the cord through the pulleys. This helps you control your angle to wind/current and keeps your setup cleaner and safer.
Will this fit my kayak?
This is a multi-fit running rig designed to suit most kayaks. Viking Profish models (Reload / 400 / GT) often have moulded brass inserts to make installation easy. If your kayak doesn’t have inserts, you can still install it using well nuts (ask us to supply them).
Do I need to drill holes?
On kayaks with brass inserts, you usually won’t need to drill into the hull where the inserts are. On other kayaks, installation typically requires pre-drilled holes for well nuts or hardware. If you’re unsure, contact us and we’ll guide you on placement before you drill anything.
Can I run it on the left or right side?
Yes. Many kayaks (including Profish models) allow left or right installation depending on your preference and how you fish.
How tight should the cord be?
You want it tight enough that the rig runs cleanly along the side of the kayak, but not so tight that it pulls across your legs or interferes with movement. Once the tension feels right, secure it with a series of half-hitch knots.
Can I use this with a drift chute (drogue) as well as an anchor?
Yes. A running rig works with both an anchor and a drift chute (drogue), letting you control where the load sits (front or rear) based on wind/current and your fishing style. Drift chute sold separately.
Is it saltwater-safe?
The hardware uses stainless steel fittings and Spectra cord (non-stretch). Rinse with fresh water after saltwater use to keep everything smooth and long-lasting.
