Easy 2.7km circuit paddle or a go the full 6km circuit

Offering a safe paddle perfect for all the family, with sheltered tidal waters it’s ideal for kayak or SUP escapades. The main part of the lake near the entrance offers the short circuit and on the southern side there is large sandy areas to explore, watch skydivers drop in, cafes and picnic spots, parking and toilets. For the more adventurous venture out the mouth into the surf of Currimundi Beach. The northern side boundary is Kathleen McArthur Conservation Park, observe the native flora with abundant bird life and many varies of fish along the ledges.
For a longer paddle into quieter reaches of the lake, head west under Ahern Bridge Nicklin Way and upstream to explore the tributaries up to Meridan Plains and Birtinya, even up into the house lined canals of Wurtulla and beyond.
There is easy parking around the lake further away from the beach to launch from.
