Red Paddle doesn’t make paddle boards like anyone else. Since 2008 they have been pioneering inflatable technology with the belief that you should never compromise on Performance, Safety or Reliability.

Simply put, they are dedicated to providing you with the ultimate SUP experience.

On average it takes 72 hours to craft each and every Red Paddle Co board such is their obsession to every element of quality control.

In fact, they are the only brand in the world that has a private production facility and they don’t make boards for anyone else so you can be safe in knowledge that you are getting unrivalled performance without compromise.

DURABILITY

MADE OF TOUGH STUFF

A Red Paddle Co board is a tough nut to crack. Substantially stronger than its hard board cousins and any other inflatable SUPs on the market. People often question the strength and durability of inflatable boards, but with many different inflatable SUP boards available, it is important to remember – not all boards are created equal.

A Red Paddle Co board has a much more robust construction and design. The unique technologies and techniques they have created and use when building a board are patent protected and a closely guarded secret – so you won’t find this strength and resilience in any other boards.

To demonstrate just how durable a Red Paddle Co board is, we took one 10’6 Ride and put it under the ultimate test. 10 challenging experiments, including extreme height, weight and pressure, that tested and certainly proved, the strength and durability of our MSL inflatable paddle boards.

Before watching, you should know the same board was used for each individual challenge. If you thought Top Gear had some epic challenges, think again!

Every board made is produced in Red Paddle Co private facility using a unique manufacturing process and it takes an average of 72 hours to create each paddleboard.

MSL

THE DIFFERENCE IN THE DETAILS

Exclusive to Red Paddle Co, MSL is recognized as the industry’s leading construction process.

Red Paddle are the only inflatable paddle board brand in the world that produces our boards in our own, private facility meaning that we have complete control over the design process and no other board comes close.

Here’s why this is so important…

The difference is in the detail. By looking at all the individual elements of drop stitch we have been able to develop a refined process to improve all aspects of board production.

THE PROCESS

Firstly, we have removed the process of coating the inner thread section with molten PVC. For us, this was a redundant process, as we had no interest in producing a single layer board which only served as a base to glue our outer/double layer to. It’s a messy process with very little control.
Instead, we coat the thread structure in a layer of adhesive that has been specially formulated to create both a seal and a bonding layer.

A layer of high-density structural PVC is then machine laminated to an adhesive layer under controlled conditions, completely removing the human factor involved in traditional double layer application.

This whole process is done at the raw material stage by carefully calibrated machinery, developed purely for this process.

THE RESULTS

A consistent and high-level cosmetic finish that has all the durability and strength of our previous double layer construction.
And because this process is done at the raw material stage, Red Paddle are now able to benefit from torsion stiffness as the material is put under tension when the board is inflated.

It all sounds simple, but this method was repeatedly refined until they created the ultimate blend of performance, quality, and weight.

THE WHOLE PACKAGE

Adding MSL to Red Paddle TecAir manufacturing process makes all boards more durable and ensures they perform better. Red Paddle Patented RSS stiffening system adds even further rigidity when needed, making SUPs so tough that you can run a 22-tonne digger over them, no problem!

Benefits of MSL

WEIGHT-SAVING BUT STABLE

All Red Paddle Co boards are up to 2kgs lighter than our previous double layer construction. But very importantly they are not too light. If a board is ultra-light, it is more affected by wind and current while on the water. MSL boards have a reassuring lightweight feel.

A SUPERB COSMETIC FINISH

All Red Paddle Co boards have an industry-leading cosmetic finish. No wrinkles or blemishes. The boards look cleaner and smoother and even feel better to the touch.

ENHANCED DURABILITY

The multiple-layer coating of Red Paddle Co boards is tough and durable. With our third generation of MSL material now in use, our boards are more durable than ever.

STIFF AT LOWER PRESSURES

Due to the Torsion Stiffness effect, all Red Paddle Co boards are stiffer at lower pressures compared to other products on the market. We recommend a pressure of between 16-22psi. Less pumping and more paddling.

TEC AIR IS NOT A PRODUCT,

IT’S A PROCESS

By focusing on the key areas of the production process, they have been able to identify ways Red Paddle can improve the result. This varies from detailing exactly where and how the layers are bonded together or how the rocker curve is applied to the board.

Red Paddle make sure that no area of the design process is ignored. Our obsessive attention to detail on the inside of the board ensures the best experience, for you, the paddler on the outside.

PREMIUM CONSTRUCTION

Red Paddle Co boards are manufactured using specially produced, high density drop stitch that makes for a stronger and stiffer core.

If you look at a Red board, there are thousands of dimples spread all over the board. Each dimple represents an internal thread. Drop stitch is the name given to the material inside an inflatable board.

Red Paddle do not use Linear drop stitch, which is a mass produced, cheap material that cannot hold high pressure. Linear boards can be identified by the straight lines of dimples on the board.

A SUPERB COSMETIC FINISH

First, They use a machine to weave the high-density inner core. Next, They cover the woven surface in an adhesive that seals the woven material, so it is completely airtight. This adhesive also acts as a bonding layer with a high-density structural PVC that is machine laminated onto the first layer.

THE RAIL TRUTH

The rail can be the weakest point on an inflatable board. It is where all layers meet and where air pressure loading is at its highest.
Red Paddle Co boards have 3 layers of taping on the rails making them the strongest boards available.

Most other boards are just 1 layer thick. Our 3-layer rail almost completely removes the risk of puncture or material failure, allowing you to use the board with total confidence.

You could completely remove the outer rail tapes and the board would be useable. Other boards would deflate immediately if you removed or made a rip in the rail tapes, making them susceptible to issues such as bulging, leaking or blowing-out.

ROCKET FAST ROCKERS

Red Paddle build rockers into their boards that give the board an authentic feel when paddled. All other boards on the market have up turned noses and tail which are not functional or effective in promoting glide and control. Our rockers are progressive. This means the rocker curve starts well back on the board and slowly increases as it reaches the nose. This progressive rocker is one of the key ingredients to our authentic feel.
Red Paddle Rockers are built to allow the board to perform. This is the reason why you will find boards like the 14’0” Elite Race outperform all other inflatable boards of the same size and are faster and more efficient than many hard boards.

ROCKER STIFFENING SYSTEM

Patented RSS (Rocker Stiffening System) is another way to control the rocker of the boards.
