They original Viking Handles have only 2 holes per tab, however, the tab itself is heavily reinforced, so if your kayak is heavier and you'd like to add 2 more screws on the sides, you can do so with confidence the tab won't crack under pressure.
There's been a bit of confusion around this in the past, but rest assured: all you need to do is line up the existing self-tapping screws on your kayak and insert them directly into the tab holes no pre-drilling is necessary.
